190e Fuel issues?
Hello everybody,
I have a 1991 190e 2.6 with about 125k miles. Aside from a leaking valve stem seal and an intermittent 3-4 second cold start, the engine has had zero issues and ran great until my issue started. Let's say this started on a Monday. Going home from work when sitting in traffic the motor had a little bit of a stumble. It felt like when one of the COP was going bad on my V8 F150. The next day going to work the stumble was worse, but still totally driveable, on the way home it was worse still. I stopped off at home to let the dog out and 15-20 minutes I went to pick up my son from my parents house which is about 2 miles away. By the time I got there, it was running pretty rough and felt like it would stall if I gave it much gas at all. I replaced the fuel filter and there was no improvement. I have to accelerate very slowly or it feels like it's going to stall and feels like there is reduced power. Does this sound like one of the fuel pumps has gone bad? Thanks all.

ok, you had an ignition problem in the ford and it feels like that. why assume it's fuel? plugs, wires, cap and/or rotor can cause the same thing. fuel pump volume test is will it fill 1 liter in 30 seconds or less. good luck, chuck.

Check all of the ignition parts first.
When's the last time you checked/replaced all of the vacuum hoses going to and from the Idle Control Valve?
