Headlight switch won't hold fog lights (W123)
Hi,
I have this problem where I cannot make the headlight switch stay pulled, where it would just pull itself back in and deactivate the fog lights. It used to work fine and gradually it started to pull itself back in and now I just can't make it hold the fog lights on. Do I really need a new headlight switch (which is expensive!) or maybe I can dissasemble it and somehow fix it? I'm gonna take it off tomorrow and see what I can do.. However any ideas? Thanks, -Holson-

From what I read here on the forum, the headlight switch must be pretty reliable, since I don't hear too many complaints about it.
That said, your best bet for a replacement (if it is needed) is probably a "roadworthy-challenged" W123. ![]() Also I am impressed with the parts prices at Potomac German Auto. www.pgauto.com I have not dealt with them but would consider it. Did not specifically see the headlight control switch in their searchable inventory but you know they have them - I guess its not a hot item - hopefully all the better for pricing. Ken300D |

I agree since I have dealt with MB's before and i did search the forum and have not seen the same problem.
I will take it off, clean it and see if I can rebuild it.. otherwise I'll just buy a new one..
