1996 e320 transmission problem

Yesterday I started having problems with my transmission slipping. I had my car washed at a pull through car wash and wonder if this could have something to do with my problem. The weird thing is along with the slipping I have noticed a noise from the engine compartment that I have not heard previously. It sounds like a fan running on high and is loudest on the passenger side of the engine. The noise does not seem to be coming from the engine but from lower down. Could this be something simple or am I in for big trouble? Any and all help is appreciated. The car has 173,000 mile on it.

sorry took so long check your fluid to see if its pink.If so your radiator cooler might have been damaged from car wash. They are known to leak antifreeze in the transmission. If she tries to move car.Drain tranmission, radiator,.use a generic trans cooler for towing.Connect old trans cooler lines together.Refill transmission with new oil,she might be ok,if not rebuild needed.Lord I hope this is not your problem.
