87 260E 124 instrument panel gremlins

I had the instrument panel out to change the light bulbs to LEDs and after hooking everything back up the clock works only when the key is off and the tach works not at all. I've checked fuses and all is good there. I am stumped.

BTW, getting that instrument panel out without a telescoping wheel is a challenge.

Any input would be useful. Many thanks.
