Memory seat conversion

Anyone know if its possible to upgrade a w201 without memory seats to having it with memory seats? Is it a difficult task? I noticed that the seat switches are interchangeable, but wasn't sure if it was as simple as just plugging in a memory seat switch to my existing connections. Thanks.

what's the difference in memory seats vs regular seats? Aren't the seats all the same? Wouldn't I just need to rewire the seat motors or resistors?

The mem seat bases have 3 motors and wiring to do the moving. Obviously cost a lot more than standard seats.

Yeah, mine are electric everything too. I thought only the first few models had manual. I wouldn't expect them yo have a 93 that's manual. But then again sometimes it surprises me that car companies back track. Like I see some 2012-2013 BMWs (any series) with HID projector headlights and LED running lights and then I see some models with standard housing halogen lights.

Ismalley, the conversion involves memory switches, wiring, and motor controls. I inquired at our local MB Parts Department about doing the conversion for my parents' 1995 E320 and was told it would cost thousands of dollars in parts ... a complex project. You may be able to scavenge the parts and wiring at a local salvage yard.

I wonder if the cost and complexity are that much different from a 1990 190 to 95 E class? Either way, for some reason, memory seats don't seem that appealing to me anymore

Might be due to the trim level. Mine began life as a 190e 2.3 with standard options. The 2.6 models might get extra stuff....
