it's a very cool story, too bad not much is mentioned about the vehicle she was in.
it could have been a 201... gas or diesel... clearly it took a hit. that pickup is destroyed! posting that in OD is like tossing a Molotov cocktail into an oil refinery though... religious stories are often hammered by the lurkers and trolls on there... maybe Tech help is a better place for it. post this question in the moderator section and ask the trio of OD mods their opinion...

it's a 124, the steering wheel pic shows the center console wood that is NOT a 201 piece. still not sure if it's gas or diesel though...

I noticed the steering wheel looked like a 80s/90s steering wheel when I saw that on the news.
It's comforting to know that if I crash my 190e a Catholic priest will generate, save me, and vaporize back into the void. Mercedes is serious about service!
