1986 5-speed 300E with cam lobes sheared off.
Well I got it running but very rough. Turns out the intake lobes for cyl 1 and 2 are sheared off of the cam shaft. I have access to a whole motor and trans out of a 1993 190e... what can be swapped to resolve this issue? Cams are not the same, cylinder heads are different? Will the 2.6L from the 190 match to the 5-speed trans in the 300? Is this even possible to swap out the motor and trans? Thanks for any info!

Why not use the cam from the 2,6?

Just move over the hardware on top of the cyl head (cam, rockers, etc)?
