Doing the rear wheel bearing on my 300e. I just bought a used carrier and had it rebuilt by muly indy with new bearing and control arm bushing. Do I need to remove the spring or shock to swap the carrier? It looks like I could support the lower control arm with a jack, but I don't want the spring flying out.

If I don't have to remove the spring should make this a quick r&r. Advice?

Just found the DIY. Doesn't say anything about the spring, so I guess I have my answer.
