Mercedes 400sel misfire Help!
Hello everyone, The car: 400sel, 131,000 miles. New Parts: Engine harness, 2 Dis. caps, 2 rotors, 2 coil packs, NGK plugs, wires. I'm having a misfire issue. I unplugged the mass air sensor and the misfire is less frequent and much less noticeable. Plugged in, it misses more and hesitates more. I've been driving around with it unplugged until the new MAF arrives. Could a bad MAF connected or disconnected cause a misfire? Also, yesterday I put in a bottle of Injector cleaner and the misfire went away. But today it is back. Any help would be much appreciated.

I would make sure the plugs you are using are exactly what is specified in the manual. I was getting idle issues with my 95 E420 and learned that a prior owner had installed resistor plugs instead of the Bosch F8DC4 plugs that were specified. Installing the correct plugs solved the problem.
