Thanks for the respnse to my earlier thread referene towing a 300E (1988) four wheels down. Guess my question was not specific enough. As suggested by others I am aware of what the manual says about towing and am aware the transmission has a secondary pump. My question is it OK to tow if an aftermarket electric pump such as Ramco is installed which will lubricate the trans when the engine is not rumming. This is the application people are using for ML's satisfactorily even though the pump people do not recommend this. The pump people acknowledge ML success for this application but do not have experience for the 300E trans. Is the 300E trans. so much different from ML that this wfould not work for 300E.
