The guy in the video isn't talking about the cleaner, he's talking about adding the gunk in the TB to the gunk in the manifold.
While that TB is easy enough to get out, on some (like the M112/113) it's not; my preference is to open the TB, spray cleaner on a clean rag and use it to wipe out the TB, including the edges of the plate. That is really fast, since the TB stays in place, and you certainly don't get any gunk washing into the manifold.
That said, most intakes are very disgusting, so the odds are that the stuff rinsed in from cleaning the TB is
de minimis.
