Got a 89 560SEC

Traded a 83 240D for it. The 240D needed some work, and so does this SEC so it evened itself out on my end. The SEC needs a valve job and a muffler which I'll do a flow master muffler I think. The car is bad (in a good way). I've already had up to 80 from a dead stop and it performs incredibly well. Suspension is pretty good, brakes superior. It is the car that will make you feel 16 again. It likes to put the little local ricer Honda and Jeeps in the dust that tailgate you constantly. so pics will be up tomorrow. Just quick question I'm starting to get a lumpy idle I noticed. Not consistently, but it did it briefly the day I got it and on thanksgiving.

You could just start by checking the plugs on it, also any idea when any real maintenance was done on it? Check for plug wear and what type of plugs are in it if they are resistor plugs or not, should be non-resistors. Also could be a bad ignition module but start with the basics.

Hey Gilly, got every maintenance record since new up until 97/98 when I started servicing it. Just replaced the plugs with non-resistors about 10K ago. Also did the wires too. We'll see.. I'll be back with an update it seems so far I just got an idea....

What wires did you get? I have an '89 with a grumpy idle and I put non resistors in it and that didn't cure it. I think the wires are some cheapo auto zone type.
