Changed speedometer cable, speedo now makes clicking sound

I put in a new aftermarket cable. I also put in a new cluster with working odometer. Now out makes a clicking noise and shakes a little starting around 30mph. Bad speedometer? The cable is Gemo brand.

It sounds like the cable is not fully seated to the speedometer head. Try to tighten the cable nut some more. The other possibility is a kink in the cable.

I pulled the cluster and took the cable off at the tranny. A plastic plug came out with it. I lined the two grooves back up and got it to pop back in. A little fluid came out with the plug. The innards of that end of the cable also came out. Sort of a little washer and the metal cable. I got it all back together.

I tightened the connection at the speedo as much as my fingers could bare. Same thing. Speedo is loud.

One of my car sometimes makes a clicking noise when the trip odometer does not fully reset. I need to just give it a couple of extra pushes.
