Help with connector ASAP?
Ok this is potentially the dumbest question ever asked on here, but I'm trying to remove the ABS control module from my '99 E320 and I cannot figure for the LIFE of me how to get the connector off without screwing it up! I've attached a photo here. I've pulled the little tab out, but now can figure out how the top piece comes off giving you access to the plugs. It seems like it would slide off forward or backwards, but this thing is on there good. I'm seriously about to lose my religion over this or just break the damn thing. Somebody offer me some guidance please!!?? Haha

Looking at the right and bottom side of your pic, you will see 3 slots on a angle. The black portion is the locking system and the white nubs part of the ABS computer.
Staying on this connector, look at where the wires are zip tied to the connector. Under this area you will see a ribbed area ( black plastic ) , pull this in the direction if the wires. ( down in the pic, along the length of the computer in real life. ) As you pull the angled slots will ride up the white nubs lifting the wire side connector from the computer. It sometimes helps to gently pull the connector out of the computer as you slide the locking system. |
