I lusted after an e430 until I drove it. After I opened the throttle on it I was ready to sell my children to get it. To have that power delivery coupled with something I could drive to Richmond in would be heaven. The problem with 3 kids is that there is close to nothing you can enjoy that will haul everything. They never put a 430 in a wagon did they? They did one better http://youtu.be/AklFE4Zi964 |
I can sympathize with you as well..I recently spent $1700 just replacing electronics and fully servicing my w210 tranny. Runs and shifts perfect and its still original for the most part. I hope it holds a while. I hear a w210 can be $4-5 grand for rebuilds and $7 grand for new.
I miss my cheaper w124 big time!!!!! and mostly for its heated seats it had! But I do love this cold a/c in my w210:D |
They never offered a V8 wagon in the W210 chassis.
An E500 wagon came out in the W211 chassis in 03 or 04, but I've never been in the market for a 211. |
yea you can find w211 e500's sitting around shops with shot air suspension. Nobody cares to spend the $thousands to repair em. My indy has 3 in his lot now. 1 is repaired but owner never paid and he is going through the courts now to make the car his or whatever. no airsuspension for me thank you!:P

A quick search shows that all E500 wagons were 4matics.
I don't need 4matic, and I don't want the air suspension. My mom had a 211 E500, and the air suspension went out under warranty. The compressor burned up and appeared to catch on fire. They replaced the air pump and the front struts. The bill was one I'd never want to pay out of pocket. |
Like I was saying....If you look around you see em out there on their bellys...especially at the auctions here in Atlanta
