my 2000 E320 radio will work if I unlock the car, get in and switch on the radio. It however shuts off if put the key in the ignition, turn 1 click and back.

my 95 has something called convenience feature which also allows radio operation and window operation if any of the front doors are unlocked and opened.

I just replaced the ignition tumbler with a factory replacement from mercedes that is coded for my car. The key unlocks everything. What I found while replacing it was that the brain surgeon that replaced the cylinder before seems to have broken everything inside. When I took off the round retaining clip the ignition cylinder housing was moving all over and it being held up with 2 large draw ties. How entailed would it be to replace everything inside there? I have no idea whats broken etc. Even with the new key in, when I take the key out it still says please remove key.
