Fiber Optic Connection
I've installed an OEM Sirius satellite radio receiver in the trunk of my 2005 W211 and have a question about fiber optic connections. Do the fiber optic cables simply "pull out" of the connection in the photo or does the connection itself need to be opened? If so, how is the connector opened? Thanks.

Usually fiber connections just click into place....I would not take the connector apart.

Fiber Optic Connector
Thanks for the reply. I tried pulling it, but it wouldn't come out easily and I didn't want to damage it.

The connector comes apart, it separates in half. As I recall there are hidden catches on the vertical walls of the face. Pull apart the walls from the bottom and they will release. The fiber optics need to be in a loop from component to component, do you have a couple of spare pieces of male/female fiber optics patch cables?

Fiber Optic
The car was pre-wired for the Sirius install, so there's enough fiber optic for the project. I just wanted to make sure that I don't damage the fiber optic cable unplugging it from the connector.
