1982 W123 280E, no dash lights, & not cranking. HELP!!
Hi All,
I'm part way through doing an ignition conversion, on my 280E. I've removed the alternator, so an auto electrician friend can recondition it for me. Anyway, after dropping this at my friend's I carried on with fitting the trigger wheel and crank sensor. Once I'd mounted the crank sensor, I wanted to spin the engine over to check that the sensor was clearing properly. I put the key in the ignition, turned it to position 1, and the gauges all came on, but no dash warning lights, then when I turned it to start, it didn't crank the engine. Is any of this because I've removed the alternator, or should I start looking for another fault? Cheers Frank.
