8x16 ET32 OK for W126SEC?
I just received a set of 8x16 Lorinser Hammer rims in the mail. The seller told me they were ET11, which I believe is the correct offset for my '90 SEC. But I am no expert!
Turns out they are ET32. Will these work properly? The guy said he had them on a similar SEC w/ no issues. As they need a fair amount of R&R, I don't want to spend the time if they are wrong. I hate running spacers! What say ye? Thanks! EDIT: Well I just installed one on the front, and of course it rubs the tie-rod boot! ![]() ![]()

If the et is 32 as you confirmed, it will not fit on the front without spacers. That is the major issue since you hate soacers. They will fit on the rear without spacer. Make sure the lug bolts are the correct style.

You need the 11s. I would send them back and get out of it. Spacers bad idea.

I ended up buying some large diameter, hubcentric, 5mm spacers and JB welding them onto the back of the wheels to clear the tie rod. Car drives well. I really notice a difference in feel with the 225's vs the stock 205's. Heavier, more meaty feeling. More road noise by a factor of 4, but the BFG's on there aren't known for their quietness. Car actually tracks better, tuns in better, though that could just be the width of the tires. Using 33/31 PSI F/R as a starting point.

Yeah, we'll see. The SEC got around 15mpg before, but I didn't buy the last of the big V8 coupes to save gas!
For comparison, both my 'Burb's get 11, and my 928 gets about 7 the way I like to drive it. My wife's 300SE and my wrecked 300TE both get around 21. But they are underpowered. Besides, I live in Texas (wife is PCS'ed here). Wasting resources is pretty much considered a god-given right down here!

You've got close that gap at the front a bit. Nice wheels, BTW.
![]() Mine are just W140's 8 hole, just straight bolt on for a W126. Going to go for the staggard look if spring ever comes and I can find some suitable rims. .
