interesting grease activity.

I had to undo the front wheel hubs of my W124 as I "accidently" dunked the front in water, water came upto the wheel hub level..

after removing all the brake etc. I removed the hub and saw a peculiar grease pattern. The penzzoil 707 grease I had put in had actually backed up on both outer sides of the hubs - quite neatly too - leaving a thin coat only in the centre.

Is this activity good or bad grease? btw the grease was still good looking and buttery and smelled just like the tube it came in.

back to the reason to remove - The bearings had not faced any water intrusion but best be safe than sorry.
