Replace power steering hoses on 1999 S500 How to reach them on steering box?

I've been trying to replace BOTH power steering hoses on my 1999 S500 and have gotten nowhere. It's almost impossible to see the area where they attach to the power steering box. Can anyone please advise me on how to get the old hoses disconnected and get the new ones installed and secured properly? ANY help greatly appreciated in this matter.

Sincereley,
Zappacat

It's almost like noone has ever had to do this before. I'm starting to wonder about my diagnosis. What's the best way of tracking down a leak? I used UV dye at first but the whole line was saturated before I even started the car. Maybe its a seal or gasket on the end I can access. Anyone have any pointers on this?

You can do it from underneath, after removing the short driver's side exhaust pipe from the manifold. I like to use a 22mm crowsfoot on a flex head ratchet. There's a small o-ring on the line that seals it to the gearbox.

Are the send and return lines both the same nut size? Thanks very much for your help. I've been looking for advice on this a LONG time.

My car didn't come with a shield. I've been under it MANY times. I'll post some pictures.
