1998 E320

new member here. couple of questions to start. are the right and left side catalytic converters the same for a 1997 e 320 and 1998 e 320? interchangeable? i need to change left/driver upper control arm, anybody ever use standard spring compressor or do i need to stick with the mb compressor? any help will be appreciated.

The 97 and 98 have different engines, hence the cats do not interchange, the 98 has a V6 motor with two exhaust banks, the 97 in an inline 6 with all 6 exhaust ports on the passenger side of the car.

You can get a generic cats welded in place of the factory cats.
