1992 accelerator pedal went flat w124

My 1992 w124 , the accelerator pedal just went down to the floor while I was sitting at a light. Now the car will only roll with idle power . I was able to park it, but I need to get it home
Can someone help me with this issue. Please. Thanks a million!

I am not familiar with your car so take my advice with a grain of salt, but it sounds like a throttle cable or linkage between the gas pedal and your engine probably broke. Are you familiar with that part of your vehicle, and would you be able to poke around for any anomalies?

There is a little plastic piece that the end of the throttle cable attaches to, that breaks off and your cable is no longer pulling on the throttle plate.

I have seen that fail in some cars.
