W203 220CDI What is this on AIr filter housing

Hello everybody,

I own a C-Class W203, Year 2002, 220CDI Coupé Sport.

I would like to know what is this indicator located on the Air filter housing.
What is his function?

Seems to be adjustable

In advance many thanks

Best regards

That looks like a filter differential pressure gage.

Essentially it's measuring the pressure drop across the filter.
New filter should have very little DP, old (plugged) filter will have high DP.

That car has the engine I wish my wagon had. The M112 V6 is great....but thirsty.

We drove a W203 C220 in Germany a number of years ago, it was an awesome car.

Lucky!!
