91 300e 2.6 belt size w/o air pump

Hello:

I have a 91 300e 2.6 w/o air pump. It has a belt in fair condition belt but I am looking to replace it when I replace the tensioner . I cannot find any listing for the correct size as all US models have an air pump.

My old factory trained MB mechanic friend said the air pump only injected air to lean out the exhaust during warm up. The state I live in has no EPA regs so I not concerned with finding and installing a pump.

The old belt has a number but it seems very tight . Ideas?

Of course my car will only be used off road for purposes of testing and evaluation.

This should do:

I've got the air-pump off on my m103 as well. From what I recall that belt fits well. I picked up a Dayco TopCog I think..

Thanks for the info. The air pumps are expensive (even used) and they are just a US tack on. The car runs well (even cold) and passed emissions when Ohio had EPA testing.

I've been trying to pinpoint a noise that sounds like an exhaust leak at startup on my m103 2.6 190e. It only happens at startup and lasts about 10 seconds. Is that the air pump?

Not just US - my 300ce has the air pump and was originally supplied to Monaco. Many European vehicles had this.

I'd rather like to remove it as it is just another thing to go wrong and it makes a noise for the 20-ish seconds that it works.

All the best.
