ive looked at the other posts and my car is acting a little differently i had two sets of keys for my car one that i used all the time and a spare set. i lost my original key and had to use the spare and ever since i started using this key my ignition gradually stopped working but it also has a hard time turning the door locks as well and will unlock the glove box and trunk fine i dont have alot of money and was wandering if maybe i ordered a new key if this would maybe fix the problem i never had this problem until i started using the spare .thanks in advance for any help my car is just sitting becouse the ignition wont turn ive tried wigglin and tappin and graphite and dont want to have to drill the lock please some one help me!

Had the spare key been used much prior to now? If not then basically you are using a new key in a worn tumbler which could be causing your problems. I would at least try putting your spare key on a wire brush to "clean up the corners" and then try it. Otherwise I would not give up on trying to get it to turn in the ignition.

thank you for the reply i called up the local mercedes shop and they had told me try using a wire brush also and it didnt work my spare key is really worn down it was one made from a softer metal than what mercedes uses my other key was in alot better shape thats why i used it instead of my spare thats why im hoping ordering another key might work the local dealer has been no help at all and wont answer most of my questions they want me to have my car towed in so they can "look" at it and i really dont have that kind of money
