Brake light switch could be the source of that warning. Im not sure how it relates to the no-start, though.

First of all THANKS TO ALL THAT HAVE CONTRIBUTED ADVICE. As I said overnight the ignition problem went away and about a week later no firther problems. As to the malfunction prompts they to went away after I drove the car about 100 yards and everything has been fine until last night while travelling down the interstate at 70 mph when the 3 prompts came back on and through several stops and restarts they remain on with the addition of the ABS LIGHT. The car us not air levelling, the power steering is practically non existent and although it is braking, not as effociently as it should. I have decided not to try the ESP. So obviously I dont just have warning lights i have real system failure. Is this some simple reset situation or do I have a central computer failure?

Do yourself a favor and get a spare key. Beleive me when I say that this makes diagnosing no-crank issues much easier.

RE: Warning lights

When you disconnected the battery, the systems lost their settings - you need to do the reset...

Engine running, turn the steering wheel all the way right and all the way left (aka, lock-to lock).

Do this a couple of times and the systems will reset.
