Blue smoke on startup
I have a 94 SL500 with 97000 miles. After sitting idle for a couple of hours it will blow blue smoke on startup. I understand this could be value guides or value seals. Does anyone know how difficult it is to replace the value seals on this engine?

119 motor? I'd pull the motor in a 129 and pull the heads, might as well do a chain while your there.

It is likely to be oil leaking through the valves and after sitting for a few hours, there is enough oil that has accumulated to make it smoke during the start. The heads will have to come off to replace the guides. Maybe someone else can give a good answer as to the cost involved.
Good luck.
