W210 grill insert installed on a W201
I'm currently working on this. I saw online where people were putting the W140 grill on a W201, so I went to the junk yard today and got a W210 grill to install on my W201. I will post pictures once the modification is complete. However, it looks like it will definitely fit with little modification.

So here it is. The grill insert surprisiningly fit with very little modification. I trimmed just the outer edges of the top lateral corners and the sides to get the insert to fit perfectly. I was even able to use all of my own original clamps that fasten it in on the back. That was it for fitment, it probably took all but 30 mins to complete the project. One other thing to be aware of is that the W210 grill insert is slightly shorter (vertically) than the W201 insert so so the center chrome strip in front falls short. So just remove the old chrome strip from the W201 grill and use that one instead. Also since the W210 grill is shorter vertically the uppermost horizontal line on the insert does not have a chrome strip, it is just black instead because it is not visible on the W210, but on the W201 it is very much visible. Solution: just use 2 of the horizontal chrome strips from the old grill insert and install them on the new insert. Since the uppermost line was not made to hold the chrome strip, I fixed mine into place with black silicone.
