HELP! 2007 Mercedes Benz C230 Sport- CEL
Hello!
I need some help here. My CEL came on yesterday. I took it to auto zone and it gave code P022 and gave me 3 possible things that could be wrong; blocked oil passage, timing belt jumped teeth or camshaft actuator. Mercedes Benz wants $165 just to get it checked, which is too much. My car is 2007 MB C230 sport, with 67K miles. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Unfortunately, The only thing you may get here is more suggestions and possibilities. I promise you if you blindly throw parts and/or labor into it you will spend more than the reasonable $165 to have it scanned and have the data and parameters read. you may want to find a good independent that has an SDS or equivalent to read it for you. That still may cost $100....

Also you can take a quick look at the cam sensors to see if they have oil leaking around them. There's still a campaign to update connectors for them. If so, they can run your VIN and you may qualify for the free update.

Why did you post this question in two separate posts? I replied to the other one.
