SLS height problem
hey, my W126 420SEL has the self level system in the rear, but i have a problem.
the sls system works and functions correctly, but i have lowered my car by about 2.5 in (60 mm) using the eibach pro springs. the front has lowered significantly, it looks awesome, but the rear has lowered only a little bit. the sls seems to be holding the car up, i have already adjusted the self level valve connected to the rear sway bar, and have the car sitting as low as it will let me. but the sls holds the car so the rear guards sit about 2 inches above the tyre. i have unbolted both self level shocks from underneath while parked on a level surface, and the car drops 2 inches in the rear, the self level shocks are holing the car up 2 inches in the rear. i don't understand how this is happening, when the shocks are simply just a hydraulic ram. and they should be able to operate at any height. can anyone help me with this situation???? |
