Blower motor continues to run

'01 CLK55.... Battery went dead. When I put the charger on the battery I noted that the fan/blower motor was running. After charging I turned off the AC/Heater console and the fan continued to run. Shut down the engine, removed the key and the motor continues to run. All suggestion's will be deeply appreciated!

There is an electronic control box for the blower motor that is usually mounted near the motor. This has failed on letting the motor run. I'd have to see a wiring diagram for your car to confirm.

You will need to replace the blower motor regulator with new. For now you can unplug the blower or pull the fuse out in the front fuse box under the hood on the drivers side so your battery doesn't drain. The blower motor regulator is mounted to the blower assembly under the dash on the passenger side, just remove the 3 phillips head screws holding the under dash panel on and youll see the blower motor.

Thank you both for your reply! Are you referring to the
HVAC Blower Motor Switch Resistor Regulator? Thank you again!

HVAC Blower Motor Resistor / Regulator ,,

it has a bunch of names, the "switch" technically would be on the HVAC control panel.
