Michael, recommend driving your 1995 E320's front wheels onto ramps then jack under the differential and place a stack of 2X6 boards, same height as the ramps, under the rear wheels so you have access under the vehicle. If you require more room to work comfortably use a floor jack to lift the vehicle higher and add 2X6 boards atop the ramps & rear supports. Increased clearance under the vehicle will make the job much easier.

You will need two large open end wrenches (41mm and 46mm as I recall) to loosen the driveshaft threaded sleeve nut near the center bearing bracket. Be sure to match-mark the driveshaft halves to ensure it's reassembled in the same orientation. Recommend replacing both front and rear flex discs while you're working on the driveshaft. Best to use genuine MB parts and torque the bolts to the proper values.

As Fred says, and you can loosen the slip joint at the carrier bearing and slide the front of the driveshaft out of the way. No need to remove the driveshaft if you are just doing the front.

You may also want (or need) to drop the exhaust for clearance when working on the car.
