Quiet Tires for 08 350 4matic

Is there a suggested tire brand for a quiet ride for my 08 350 4 matic with 55k? I am currently running 17" A/S Sport Michilen tires.
I have changed the transfer case oil, oil in both differentials, and had the transmission professionally flushed . There is no vibration now and the drive train is much quieter. I get a little whine on a twisty road but can't decide if this a tire issue or a bearing issue.
Thanks,
Turner

Well you've obviously running a good set of tires. I'd say Michelins are on a large number of the members of this form. What's the manufacture date, how many 32nds are left on the tread, and how many miles on them?

I'd recommend not going with the michelins. They dont wear well on the mercedes. Every set of pilot sports I've seen on a benz have feathering as if they were wearing perpendicular to the direction of travel. Ive seen a service bulletin specificly mentioning this problem. Given the choiced I'd go with the continental dws.

i don't find michelins as quiet as they used to be... that said they seem to wear well on our cars... we don't use sport tires either... they are likely made of a harder compound

Having tried a set of Conti's DWS and the newer PureContact on an E34 BMW, I prefer PureContact. It's a quieter tire and to me, more responsive to steering inputs. Tire Rack rates it very close to the Michelin Premier in all-weather performance.

I have minimal wear on the tread and am disappointed in the noise factor. The sport tires do grip nicely but I prefer a less ' Teutonic ' ride. I have a set of Continentals on my 740 series BMW and am satisfied with the ride. I have noticed the quality of the Michelins has changed a bit in spite of the price paid.
I am sorry that I did not ask the membership about tires prior to the installation of the Michilens although Costco offers a good deal on them but is limited in their offerings. I jumped the gun in the excitement of newer car ownership on this one.
Thanks for your help.
