oil check on cl600? v-12

i just bought a 2001 cl600, i was trying to figure out how to check the oil. doe anyone know were the dipstick is? . i found a little stick on a tube on the front of the engine passenger front that i thought was it.i pulled it out and it was only 2 inces long. can someone please help. how much oil does the v-12 usually take? thank you

I don't know, but have you tried the owner's manual? There's a good chance it's in there.

600 oil level check

on my '94 sl-600, the dip stick is on the passenger side, near the front of the engine, has a RED handle on it, is about 2 feet long.

That 'short 2" one' in the front center is for the power steering fluid.

isn't the 2001 part of the fss maintainance system?ie there is no dipstick-it's all done by sensors and they tell you when to change fluids based on sensor readings for all fluids
