My 1985 250 blows tiny particles of tree debris into the cockpit through the fresh air vents. Screens on the cowl are intact. Is there a filter that might be missing or torn?

Check the drains at the back of the engine bay these get blocked by crap like this, which in turn means rainwater etc gets trapped in your pipes. There's nothing quite like turning your fresh air vents on and getting a faceful of cold water. The other thing that happens,is that when you try to de-mist your windows in wet weather the damn things fog up with frightening speed.Quite dangerous if it happens on a busy road or at speed.
You may have to feel around for the drain exits but they are at the rear of the engine bay.Hope this is of help.Bear
