W210 ECU with different part number
Hi,
I have a question regarding my ECU, I have recently bought W210. From last owner I have only received one last master key (a Key without any button). Now I would like to have set of original keys. I discussed with my Mechanic and according to his key maker my car’s ECU memory of 3-slots is already full and ECU is not rewriteable. So, he gave me an option to buy used ECU along with ESL, IGNITION, EIS, 2-keys, Driver-Side Door Lock. He is charging me around USD550.00 for all. After some searching on ebay, I can see the same w210 used items costing around USD-250 to USD400. These items are for W210, CDi, Sedan, E220 (2.2L), and Right-Hand-Drive (but unfortunately with different ECU part number) Now my question is that can I buy these items and install them in my vehicle and will they not conflict with my Engine or with anything? Or anyone can recommend any other cheaper solution? My W210, specifications are: W210, E220, CDi, Sedan, Right Hand Drive, Year Late 1999, Facelift Chassis # WDB210006-2B-013138 Engine # 611961-30-163848 ECU # A 000 153 43 79 (2.2L) image also attached Thanks! Do you have an actual Mercedes dealer within driving distance? If so have them scan and tell you what slots are open.
I'm pretty sure there are 6 or 8 individual keys and each individual key can have 4 "clones". ( RE if key A ( 1 ) is lost, a second A key can be had but it is now called A2 . |

The original post sounds like a nightmare waiting to happen.
