1993 500SL does not start
This car one day all of a sudden no longer wanted to start. It cranks fine but does not Fire I have checked for spark on both banks by removing a plug and and it is fine. I disconnected the fuel inlet and checked fuel pressure, pump works great! Spark plugs are wet so I know we are getting fuel from the injectors. I hooked up my star scan tool and it gave me a code for crank possition sensor and for anti-theft being armed in both doors. I changed the crank sensor and I replaced the batteries in the IR remote and made sure the alarm was disengaged. I ordered a new Bosch battery that will arrive tomorrow because this one seems a little week. I know these cars need to have a healthy battery to work properly. I also suspected a bad OVP but found out that the GM replaced the ovp for the V8 129 so I checked the fuses in the GM and they are fine. Also checked the fuses in the main box just as a matter of course and they are fine. Any suggestions?

I have the same car with the same year.
The battery is not a big deal... Check your caps and rotors. These last few weeks we have had the wacky high humidity from the tropical storm. Maybe they are wet? Martin |
