Gas Tank
Recently someone gave me a 1971 Mercedes Benz 250 C (W114 series). I am hoping to restore this car. But while looking over the car I found that the gas tank has rusted out around the sender unit. The unit is bad as well.
I have been online quite a bit trying to find a gas tank. Look like it'll be like searching for a needle in a haystack. Would a gas tank from the other W series work on this car? |

Any W114 or 115 tank will do. No difference between sedans, coupes, gas or diesel.

Thank you, Mike. Maybe I have better luck with the W115s.

Can anyone direct me anywhere to search for the tank?
I would appreciate it. |

MrFman,
There are "used parts" websites that you can search. These seem to be nationwide clearing houses for wrecking yards. Now that I have mentioned it, I don't have any saved. But they are out there. After I log off I'll see what I can find for you. Anziani '97 CL600 50K |

used parts
Here are 3 firms I've "bookmarked". All deal in used Benz parts. I've only listed the middle of the address (no www.etc)
tristarparts.com mercedesdismantlers.com findpart.org I just remembered Adsit(?) They deal in new and used. There are also pick-a-part yards but I doubt if they have anything that old. Good luck, Anziani '97 CL600 50K |

You also might contact the Mercedes Classic Car Center in Irvine, CA. I'm sure they would have something but you might want to be sitting when they tell you the price.
