w124 om602 - Compression Test Adapter - Wrong Connector? - baum bm-m70te-1a
Would like a sanity check about this adaptor baum bm-m70te-1a
Pelican Parts.com - Late Model Diesel Compression Gauge Adapter Notice the connector on the Baum vs. the standard diesel adaptor connector. They are vastly different. I'm using the normal US General Diesel compression test setup and I'm not able to get this Baum adaptor to fit. Before I do something drastic like rig up a high pressure hose to it or chop a bit off the top of that connector to make it less "tall", has anyone else dealt with this issue before? This is for an om602 2.5L Turbo, aka a 1991 300D. I'm pulling the intake and fuel lines "again" debugging a nailing sound and possible pre-chamber leak on #4. Figured I might as well do compression tests at the same time. The first time I pulled the injectors out it was to replace the heat shields and see if that would solve compression gasses getting out of #4 cyl. I'm reading it is most likely the diesel prechamber... so here's to hoping that is the "real" issue. I'm following this testing procedure and I have the ************** document as well. http://w124-zone.com/downloads/MB%20CD/W124/w124CD1/Program/Engine/602_603/01-1200hw.pdf Full Size Pictures: https://plus.google.com/photos/+JohnHartejohnmharte/albums/6169485295407085985

So, Pelican is asking if I want to return it.
I asked another mercedes parts company what they thought, they said to compression test though the glow plugs using the standard adaptors. Or... hack up some JBWeld and this adaptor....to make it work. Just odd it's sold as working with the late model om602 engines but the connector is all skinny and tall.
