1993 400e pulled code 8 camshaft

Finally got around to replacing the fan clutch and radiator on my 400e. The car sat for 4 years!!!

When replacing the fan clutch, I might point out that the bolt that holds the clutch to the pulley needed to be shortened by about 10mm

Anyway,,, now the car is giving me a code 8 which indicates camshaft open/short.

I measured on the EXL plug "B" from pins 1 to 5 approx. 1.1K Ohms
so there is no short or open.

Been trying to decipher WIS and for that code is says test step [] 23 =>14 but I cannot located test step 23.

So either if someone knows where to locate test step 23, or has any suggestions please advise.

The car runs great until it warms up then rough idle and hesitation, and miss, cough etc.

This problem did not occur before the fan clutch went out (or at the very least, my wife didn't tell me the car was running crappy)

I STAND CORRECTED!!!
Looking at the diagnostic test push button AND seeing the LED next to the number 4, I assumed that the blink code was for diagnostic pin 4, but it's not, it's for pin 19.
So after locating my handy-dandy push button tester, I probed pin 4 and got a code reading of "3" blinks, well sure enough I checked the ECT sensor and have a bad (or loose) pin I got no reading until I moved the pin a little and then I got the reading that I expected.

Car got up to temp and runs fine, even with 4 year old gas ( and some fresh mixed in)

Thanks to all that read my post and thought about the problem,,,

Now to swap transmissions on the 98 e320,,, uggh

Glad it was a simple fix. How is the harness on the car? That could also be trouble soon.

Upper harness had been replaced before I got the car.
