using alcohol to pass emissions

I've read,and watch different ways to beat emission testing.One guy bought two 1/5s of 190 pure grain alcohol to 1/8 tank of fuel.Another used e85,them mixed gasoline and mmo after test.I always thought this trick would work.Lucky in my area no testing,I drive CAT free, no sulpher stink.I read that e85 is mixed with gas to make fuel undrinkable.I wonder if they have problems in Brazil.

I thought you meant passing a bottle of 12 year old Glenfiddich to the inspector. I think it works sometimes.

Methyl Hydrate is your friend

Ive gone thru the same thing, if there is one thing that turns the stomach of a car guy, its getting the emissions testing done. It doesn't matter how well you have your car running, the standards are excessively strict that you have no ideal if your slightly pass the max values without having your own testing equipment. Then your up S%$# creek if you do fail, and need to find out what is causing the problem without being able to trial and error. Im all for a properly running car, but there's a difference between a slightly lean/rich mixture and a weak cat. Vs the car pouring smoke or burning oil out the exhaust.

Now my car never had a issue passing our provincial emissions test, however I wanted to see how big of a difference metly hydrate would make.
I had the readings from my previous test (2013, no additives), and haven't done any emissions upgrades or replacements since that time till a month ago (2015). so before my test I had about a 1/4 tank of fuel, I poured in about 2L of methyl hydrate (known as gasline antifreeze up here), and drove her hard right before the test as always. Got my results and I was floored, my readings were all cut down by nearly half.
Right after, I filled the tank up to dilute the excessive methyl hydrate, and all was well again.

2 more tests to go till the car is 30yrs old, and ill never have to do this etest torture again. LOL

I've owned 5 Mercedes from an '87 300E to my current '97 CL600. I have NEVER had a problem with passing "smog". And I've never done anything out of the ordinary except to drive it to the smog station in a lower gear to get the cat HOT!
In fact, I just bought this '97 and was watching the test dweeb as he ran the tests. I noticed he walked over and tapped (I assume) a gauge. The car passed with flying colors (12 cylinder 120). I looked at the results. Most of them read "0". I can see why he tapped the gauge since the readings were almost perfect.
