6.9 Converted Suspension Help
Sometime in it's long and storied past, my '78 6.9 had the hydraulic suspension amputated and a more traditional suspension installed. The conversion appears to be very well done and the car still rides nicely. It looks like regular 450SEL parts were used in the conversion. Unfortunately the front of the car sits rather low, as the 6.9 L V8 is notably heavier than 4.5 L V8 found in the donor 450SEL.
I would like the car to sit level, either by bringing the front up to factory height or by lowering the rear. Is there a good source for shorter rear springs or longer front springs for W116 cars?

Take a look at the parts listing for the donor, MB usually has multiple spring pads of various thicknesses to trim ride height.

Yup... there are usually different spring pads available. The spring pads are usually marked with bumps. IIRC 1 bump is thinnest, 3 bumps is thickest. See how many bumps you have to see if you can go thicker. You may have to go lower in the rear, if the front has already 3. Good Luck!

you should be able to find help at m-100.cc although the originality police may frown upon your car
