Had to tow car - multiple misfire codes
Car will not stay on and barely start. Happened out of nowhere. Getting codes 0300, 0301, 0305, 0303. Could it be a bad CPS? I had driven the car for 10 miles. Then it started hesitating and finally die. Any thoughts? Sparplugs have 30kmi. No leaks. Car has 135kmi. Thanks!!

Without knowing what car you're talking about I'm going to go ahead and say no, not a CPS. Sounds like a failed fuel pump, but again without knowing what car there are some models where lack of fuel pressure is caused by something other than the pump.

Sorry. 2005 CLK500
|
Possible fuel pump but the connector that goes into the tank can overheat and fail too. First step is to confirm that lack of fuel pressure is the problem.
|
Thanks!! Need to research how to test fuel pressure. I have done many repairs but never that one.
|
Could someone advise which gauge to get to test the fuel pressure? Can one from autozone or o'reilley work?
|
How old are the ignition cables?
|
Original. But now car wont fire up at all. Fuel issue seems clearer

Right now all of your misfires are on the same bank. Check for a clogged cat.

There was no fuel pressure at all in the rail. Order new fuel pump, filter and module assembly. Going all new. $500 and change.

My bad - it shows the correct order farther down. Too bad, though, the cat scenario fit so nicely.
