Burnt Bulb Indicator
The burnt bulb indicator on my dash comes on erratically. Usually there is no bulb burnt out. I am wondering if the relay that actuates it is faulty. Where is it located, and can a replacement be purchased.

Do you have a "third" stop light in the rear window? Most people forget about this one. Also corroded terminals in the tail/stop lights will cause this, especially if you live in "rain/snow country.

teddy1937, check the rear lamps for flat spots on the contact locations at the base of each lamp. The flat spots cause problems with the Lamp Out system. Replace any lamps that exhibit flat spots.

clean, polish, pry, bulb grease
At one point or another, we all experience the phantom "bulb out" warning light.
I've solved it by taking my dremel with the small polishing head and polish the contact points in the sockets (especially the tail light sockets), as well as, the tip and the sides of the bulbs. Then I take a small screw driver and gently pry the sides of the contacts in slightly so that the bulb is squeezed snugly in the socket (doesn't wobble around in the socket). Lastly, I apply a little bulb grease to the tip and sides of the bulb to increase the odds of the bulb surfaces making good contact. AL
