Power steering pump bolt missing
Motor started idling really rough. looked under the hood, and the first thing I noticed was the wing nuts for the PS pump and air cleaner were gone. ... got replacements. Had to add fluid to PS pump (just a little low), noticed pump was loose. Went to tighten it up, found (or did not find) missing pivot bolt.
motor was idling rough because PS pump was loose, belts flapping. I've pulled pump tight, but I still need to pivot bolt. junk yard is out of mercs. ?Do any of you know what sized bolt is used as the pivot bolt on a W123 300D? Please advise if you do.

MC-Professor, call the Parts Department at your local MB dealer. The rep should be able to tell you the size and cost of a replacement bolt. Probably more convenient to buy a new bolt from the MB dealer than looking elsewhere, plus it will be an automotive bolt.

Thanks, but nearest dealer is 2 hrs away. Was hoping that I could get the size and I could hit the junk yard. Don't care if it's off a merc. as long s it fits.

MC-Professor, I am sure any MB dealer can mail the bolt to you. Better than wasting your time trying to find the proper size bolt somewhere.
