04 S430 can't change Trans from comfort to sport

Hi all. I have a 2004 S430 that I can not change from comfort to Sport. The selector switch does not change anything. Comfort is ok but is a little too sluggish a response for me. I did a search and could not get a result list. Maybe I put in the key words wrong. Any help would be great. Thanks

I've seen the switches get boogered up after food/debris have been dropped on the area around it.

The switch may be unplugged. The trim panel around the shifter just prys up, give it a look.

Thanks for the responses. The switch is plugged in but I don't know how to check if it is functioning. Can anyone tell me if the wiring to the switch can be jumped to change the setting. There are 3 wires I believe and I'm thinking it's an on off kind of switch. It doesn't toggle like my other car does. Maybe that's the issue. Thanks.
