Is it possible for a DIY'er to replace the fuel level sender on a "96 Mercedes c36 amg. If so, can someone explain process and/or direct me to a diagram. Thanks

There are 2 senders on this car, one on the left side and one on the right. They enter from the bottom of the tank but you can't see them until the small skid plates are removed. Be sure the tank is drained otherwise all of the fuel will fall out.

You will need to make a tool to unscrew the lock ring. One side has a hose arrangement, this is the jet pump that moved fuel from the left side to the right. ( Look up how a water well jet pump works. )

The 97 C280 I got a while back was sitting for 3+ years, the contacts for the senders were varnished over, a cleaning fixed them. From what I recall, the senders are in series to give actual fuel level.
