Process to dissect a W123 Euro Headlight ?????

I have a Euro headlight which has a bunch of damage which I am going to try to fix myself.

How does one correctly and safely remove the 8 metal clips which holds the front glass lense on? Once removed, can the "original" glass piece be reinstalled without issue?

Can the black plastic knobs be removed? I got a hack job repair with a worm clamp. I think JB weld might fix it if I can remove it safely.

Does anyone know if the inner plastic stuff can be removed and replaced with non-damaged donors?

Bought a set. Driver side is minty as represented. Passenger side is far from minty and has a bunch of damage contrary to representations.

It's been some time since I disassembled one so I don't remember the details but when installing the clips start on the glass first and snap over the plastic. Snapping over the glass will chip it.

Thanks. I successfully took it apart and repairs a majority of the damage. There's a tiny piece of the inner plastic which is missing, so it will have to stay that way. I think I cracked the code on the broken black knob as well.

Really like the look of the Euro's !

I have done it its easy ,put a driver in the clips they have a hole just ready for it .All parts are interchangeable and replacement parts are on ebay .,Clips just push back on after jobs done. The ones to watch are the plastic ones .I broke two off mine .But that was on my w124 .With the plastic type you need a large G clamp to take pressure off the glass first ,or the plastic clips will snap off as you lift them from the glass , rendering the whole lamp to scrap.
