w140 broken spring

repacing my lower control arms and ball joints noticed a broken spring.I was going to cut the other one to match.My son bougth me two new ones.Got two for $112. shipped.My problem is getting the old ball joint out of the hub.I will try heating it today.

you don't need a spring compressor to do the job.Raise vehicle and place on stands,posistion jack under control arm.Remove sway bar link,lossen shock.Lossen bolts to control arm,then lower with jack.No flying springs or danger at all.

Oh yeah If you look at the peachpart tech article for the w129 spring removal,its the same as a w140
